Well then, Vista is on the horizon and i noticed there are a lot of coverage about Vista windows' sounds, as it was composed by Robert Fripp (famous composer).
Well, you could listen to the comparison between XP and Vista Windows Sounds HERE (http://www.istartedsomething.com/uploads/vistasounds.mov)
Personally i dont think there's much change to it, and honestly i'd like XP sound scheme better. Sheesh, dont really care because i'd deactivate windows sounds :p
It is extremely interesting to note that all XP sounds were encoded at 352kbps, and Vista sounds encoded in 1411kbps. That’s 4 times the quality. And you’ll also notice the Vista sounds are all equalized at a lower volume than the XP counterparts, making them less annoying when you have your speakers turned up high. As well as, nearly every Vista sound is shorter than the XP version.
1411kbps? WTF? If its a positional surround audio then its ought to make differences........... if its 2 channel sound, then, microsoft ought not to waste my precious HDD space and processor time :p
