I can't find it on the net where its directly spelled out for me. I want a 64 bit version of Vista. Which one do I need to get? Under requirements it looks like the most basic edition is 32 bit only. I'm coming from XP pro. A non-legal XP Pro. Will I also need to pass the genuine advantage BS to use an upgrade version (if so, f-it, I'll stick with XP)?

found the answer.

I went to newegg and got xp home for 100 USD, Full version. With that I got an uprade coupon I'll use for home premium. THat disk will contain both 32 and 64 bit versions of vista. done.

Nah, I checked out the stats on that-no tools that a home user would have any need for. I'll save my money. :) It's just my home theatre PC. I AM though interested in a Vista certified 1GB usb stick.
