Someone said they cannot load Windows XP Pro OEM onto the Intel Mac Notebook?

I read a comment from someone selling a new copy of Windows XP Pro OEM that he just bought because he said that he cannot load it onto his new Mac Notebook, the guy said he learned it will only load onto a new Mac Intel Desktop.

I can't find where this is said and written, I can't find where this claim is true, why would you be able to load Windows XP Pro OEM onto an Intel Mac Desk top and not an Intel Mac Notebook?

Can anybody tell me more about this? I've been reading boot camp and don't see where this is said, and I emailed the guy selling the software and he don't seem to want to answer me back, I want to buy this OS if he is wrong.

This isn't true, you can load it on any Intel based Macintosh. that person must not know what he is doing to install it.

I thought you had already done this?

be sure he hasn't registered the Serial or if you buy it you will be screwed.

I did start to get into loading Windows XP onto my Mac Notebook, then just before I went to do it I found the dog needed to have bumps cut out and set me back a grand two times in the last few months.

So no hurry to load Windows, I've been enjoying my Mac and find I'm not using windows as much.

So once I get this guys assurance he has not loaded the key number I'll thro in a low bid, maybe I'll get it.

Just as another piece of comfort, my business partner is running OS X and Windows on his Macbook pro every day for work... So I can say 100% (because I've seen it) that this works. We both also use parallels, but that isn't necessary unless it's work related.

I'm thinking if you run parallels you need to be sure you have the memory to run it, I understand that both Mac OS X and Windows OS are working while your using a windows program on a Mac in parallels.

Thats the way I understood what I was reading about what the difference was between the two applications of installing/running Windows on Mac.

Like you can either run just Windows, or have both OS opened because thats thte way parallels worked. I'm not sure if I have it figured right.

I can agree with this 100% as well cause my roommate has a Macbook pro as well and he has an OEM version of XP installed on it so he can play games

first, Yes, you will need at least 2 gigs if you are a heavy user with parallels.

Second, with parallels, windows is only being emlulated, so it runs slower. That's what I mean about work use. I really only use it when I need to have both at the same time for work. other than that I just reboot into windows.

You will not be able to game in parallels (if you planned to) because parallels doesn't supoort hardware video cards.
