Hey guys, i need some help...i have some laptops...about 8 or so compaq armada m700's...they are 700mhz, 128mb ram, 20gb hard drives, and ATI rage LT mobility graphics and they have windows 2000 pro....they also have DVD roms...where can i get a dvd decoder that doesn't cost money...the graphics drivers won't do it...and i really don't want to pay for it...now i have cyberlink DVD solution, it came with the DVD-RAM drive i bought for my main rig...can i just install that on all 8 laptops?? or are there files i can copy from my rig?? or are there plain and simple free DVD decoders out there??

Try the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) (http://www.cccp-project.net/) I think it has a DVD decoder on it. CCCP will pretty much play anything you throw at it. And you wouldnt by chance be selling any of the laptops would you? i might be interested.

actually i'm keeping 2...one for myself/loaner for g/f, and the other is for my mom...but yes i am selling the others as specialty parts arrive...i order the parts and sell them as working machines...they've been going for $225 canadian...i also sell pentium 3 desktops for $100 with monitor keyboard and mouse...

i also have 2 toshiba tecra's but they don't have AC adapters or hard drive caddys...and believe it or not i have several working NEC versa 4200 Pentium 75/100 laptops with AC adapters, batteries, but no harddrives...will GPS software work with windows 95??

the NEC's are pentium 75/100 with 16/32mb RAM...i think my cellphone is faster...i'm not sure about the toshibas, i don't have AC adapters for them...so i haven't booted them up yet...well i booted one up, but it fried the hard drive i put in it, cause the amps on the AC adapter were a tad off, lol...it was a 12gb drive i got for free so i didn't care but i haven't put any new parts into em since...i know they are P3 like the compaqs though....the armadas surf, email, play dvd's and you can even play soldier of fortune 2 on super low graphics and get 25 FPS :p the DVD playback on the armadas is pretty good too...no lagg or skippage
