I don't know exactly what all information you guys need so I'm going to give you everything I got.

The problem I'm having is that I'm not sure where a black connector goes on this long connection board. (you know long rows of little pins). :)

Anyways the connector I'm trying to connect is black and is 2 rows of 5, with the top right pin hole filled if you're looking into the connection holes. Its the connector for the Led Light, HD light, etc. So I'm pretty sure.

Below is a link to the stats on my original MB just in case you guys need that and I'm going to post some pictures of what I'm needing to connect to.

On this page the connector that I'm trying to figure out how to connect to the new motherboard is called F_PANEL1 on the bottom right side of the MB diagram. F_PANEL1 is what the connection in question used to connect to on my old MB.

Are you sure said connector goes here? As there are no 5pin spaces.

It could be USB or something else, which goes elsewhere.

Well the wires that run to the black connector that I'm trying to place lead right into the power button and the LED thats on the front of my case. The thing is this case is a factory Compaq so I thought maybe the connectors are made based around the mother board that is manufactured specifally for that Compaqu computer.

That could very well be the problem. Usually OEM (Compaq etc) use their own design for such things. I thought you had a normal standard case.

You might want to consider getting a normal case as they're pretty cheap anyways. Judging by your system specs in your sig, looks like you've changed alot of the stuff anyways.

I was afraid of that. So now my problem is if I order another case do I want to go fairly cheap or go ahead and go big. The small stuff is starting to add up if you know what I mean.

Can you get those connectors that snap together and rewire it yourself if you know what the wires are?

PS Thanks for your help on all this.

If your worried about breaking the bank on a new case I would recommend this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137). I own the thing myself and am very satisfied with it. Every review I've read online as been good also.

Well you could try cutting up the connector very carefully, but if you snap it too far into one it may not work.

Hey guys after giving it a careful look I was able to mount it just right and get all the proper connections. It was the infared stuff that was throwing me off and since I don't use any of that I didn't bother plugging those in. I just booted my PC up for the first time and it runs great so far I'm logged onto windows and using the internet and everything.

Thanks for all the suggestions. :)
