Ok, so I have a friend with a Windows Vista computer that will open in internet explorer instance upon startup. The problems are that it opens it in fullscreen mode with no bars of any kind and it is just a blank empty page. I checked all the usual spots and I am losing my mind with this. Do you have any ideas what might be causing this? If you have any ideas at all please let me know. I want to :sniper: this problem IDB.

I think its the Welcome Center........... and somewhat it was corrupted or something :p

Just launch msconfig from start menu search bar and disable any unneeded component. Be wary as you could disable necessary stuff......

msconfig is for babies. I always use registry editor, but I will take a look in msconfig. I keep forgetting there have been a lot of changes since I got my A+ certification. Msconfig might not be for for testing purposes in Vista or it might have other places than I am used to with XP.

msconfig is for troubleshooting. the registry is for finalizing the setting. better yet, in vista you could use the windows defender startup tool, gives a bit more info as to what the apps are, might be helpful

My other thought is that it could be an active desktop page set to launch it, but I can not find anywhere in Vista to determine if this could be the case.
