I have installed 2 Memory Modules on my P4PE board: in Row 0&1: 512MB, DDR, PC2700U,166MHz(Infineon) and in Row 2&3: 512MB, DDR, 333 (Infineon). I want to extend my memory to 1,5 GB and bought SPE 1024MB DDRAM PC333. I repaced my Row 0&1 card with this 1GB card. Nothing works! Have I choosen the wrong memory? If I go back to the old 2x512MB configuration, all is fine again.
Please help me with some insights!

It should work ok i think
Does the 1gb stick work on its own in the board?
My guess is that the RAM timing is mismatched (as the result of the mixed SPD setting)
But, as usual, make sure you check the RAM as yahooadam pointed out - gotta make sure you weed out potential damaged hardware before digging the more advanced options :D

Thanks yahooadam! Very usefull advice.
I should have tried this out. But.., I have already returned the "wrong" RAM to the supplier and bought another one with description exactly identical to the one in my P4PE manual: "Kingston ValueRAM - Memory - 1 GB - DIMM 184-PIN - DDR - 333 MHz / PC2700 - CL2.5 - 2.5 V - unbuffert - non-ECC"
I have little ideas what these descriptions mean. I found this site: "http://www.mpasystems.com.au/cgi-bin/mpa.pl?04_support+89_RAM%20Explained" and learned something about RAM.
Thanks also Zefram for your reply!
Do I need to change entries in my boot settings? What means "SPD setting"? Any idea where I might learn more about how to do correct or get best settings for my RAMs?
Great to usefull help for my computer problems!!
