Interesting article giving you a heads up to the X48... and it appears it might not really be worth it... At least that seems to be my take.

Tell me what you all think of it though...

X48 won't be worth it for a little while. Between the latency and cost of DDR3 X38 looks much better at this time.

Even the X38 is a hard sell. I went for it so I can have 2 fulls speed PCIe graphics slots. Unless you need that, the P35 is a better choice. The P35 is just as fast, overclocks just as well, and uses alot less power.

I opted to go with the DFI X38 LT LANParty T2RL because I want to try Crossfire. The cost of the HD3870 has actually made it easier for me to give it a shot, and besides, it will not break the "little woman's bank account" (I don't think I'll let her know just yet ... :) )
My DFI MoBo is hopefully on the way ... from the fine folks over at http://www.motherboardpro.com (http://www.motherboardpro.com/DFI-LanParty-LT-X38-T2R-X38-Motherboard-Socket-775-ATX-p-405.html)

I like the BloodIron P35 board, but the layout is kind of weird. It was only 20.4cm x 30.4cm (8" x 12") The RAM slots were a little too close to the CPU socket and I couldn't use my RAM cooler on them because my IFX-14 is too big ... :)

Yea, but I can't wait to put it through its paces ... I still can't decide though if I should get a Q6600 or wait until the E8650 comes out ... I have a E6850 right now in the BloodIron, but I want to get a quad REAL bad! Just can't quite figure out how to get it and still not let the "boss" know I got it until after Christmas ...
