I have just put together a PC with an MSI P4N SLI XE mobo, it has a p4 Dual Processor. On powering it up I just get a series of beeps and the d bracket led's go to 2 red & 2 green the manual says at this point -Processor Initialization
- This will show information regarding the processor (like brand name, system bus, etc...) I have tested the ram and the monitor is blank. Can anyone help please.

Hi, first of all, try re-seating the processor to make sure it is in properly. Then double check your RAM. It has to be thoroughly seated as well. If your monitor is blank, how do you know your RAM is good? List everything you have going on and we'll be more than glad to help ... ;)

It's good you guys pointed that out to him, ... but what's the harm in a little snail-mail spam? I use it for starting me woodstove ... :woot:

what are you all on about I moved house and edited my address not deleted it, anyway I don't see how that helps with my problem unless you want to come round and fix it.

Still a real place though judging by Google (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1+Tudor+Court+Water+Lane+Leighton+Buzzard+B edfordshire&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&z=16&iwloc=addr&om=1)

Anyways, make sure the CPU is installed correctly and locked into the socket. If it is, then it sounds like your CPU is probably dead.

I think I was the first to offer some advice and he has never gotten back with whether it worked or not ... he now thinks we're coming over to fix it for him ... :woot:

No I don't think you are coming over to fix it, I was replying to the previous posts and their ludicrous cmments. I'm sorry I haven't got back to you but I have not been well enough to pull the pc about. It seems common consensus that the cpu needs to be reseated hopefully I will be able to do that today then I will post a thread letting you know how I got on. Thank you for the advice.

Thank you for all the advice (accept about my address), well it has now got all 4 green led's on the d bracket and I have now loaded windows, set the bios etc. However I can't get rid of this bleeping it is constant and very annoying the funny thing is everything is working ok. Any more ideas?

If the beeping is nothing serious you could disconnect your speaker which the bios beeps emit from.

I have tried that but the bleeping doesn't seem to be coming frm that little speaker

By chance did you hook up your case's speaker? That's an easy fix ... just unplug from the mobo ... :)

I did that and in desperatin I even cut the wire to the speaker
