I just got back home from New Jersey and it turns out that my main rig is down and firefox on my laptop isn't working properly. When I go to sites like gmail or espn, gmail says I have a slow connection and the espn front page is all white with links on the left side. When I go to mlb.com, the page loads but I don't get anything in the main center window thing. Is there something wrong with my firefox or internet?

Firefox on my dad's computer works fine though...

I'm running Vista business 32 bit on my laptop with cable internet connection.

Maybe a virus, or nasty spyware? Did you uninstall and start fresh with it? Or maybe update it?

I'll scan for those things now.

It's odd because it only affected Firefox, not IE.

Yeah, double check the latest Firefox install should be 2.0.0.11

Firefox is completely updated.

It's weird because at school, firefox works fine. Now that I'm home, firefox is screwing up. I have no idea what the problem is now.

Problem solved.

I reinstalled firefox and ran DOM Inspector and now everything works fine.

Thanks.

Don't forget to get the latest versions of Ad-Block Plus, FasterFox and No-Script. Those three combinations are the "Must Have" for the best and safest surfing ... I have NEVER had an attack, no adware and no malicious scripts EVER!!!

Though I've heard of it and seen its interface, I've never used it. Why is it better than Firefox?

It's quicker in my opinion. Plus I like the layout of the browser more so.

it does seem quicker and there is something called speed dial where you save all of your favourite websites and simply click the one you want. the layout is like this .

Firefox has several tweaks as well ... Fasterfox is quite useful ... most all my bookmarked sites load well under a second ... :)
