I'm building a new PC using one of my older cases. The problem is that case's power/led cable does not fit into the F_Panel connector on my motherboard (a Gigabyte GA-P31-S3G).
I understand how the cable is supposed to connect but, the cable has 16 pins while the F_Panel connector has 20 pins.
Is there anyway to fix this or is my only option getting a new case?

Im not quite sure I understand your problem. could you possibly post some pics that will demonstrate your problems or at leasty show what your two connections look like?

Front Panel Connector i guess
But normally the on/power/hdd stuff is all on seperate pins, you may have to move the pins around to get it to work, pics of the mobo, connector and page in the manual that describes the header would be good

YEs. I figured out half thru my post that F Panel meant F-panel as in front panel. ok that part down, I still didnt get the post. I thought usually the front panel connectors were all separate little connectors that connected to one hub of pins on the mobo. *shrugs*

First off, I'm really sorry that I didn't post this sooner, but I just started a new semester and it's been kinda hectic.
That being said, I managed to figure out what the problem was. The Dell case I was trying to use had a proprietary cable for the on/power/hdd stuff Instead of having each on separate pins, as yahooadam said. The fix was simply buying a case rather then using something from Dell.
