Yesterday nigth I was trying to install a HD in my PC,but I forgot to turn off the power supply or something like that and as consequence the Bios didnīt not recognize anymore the HD,one Sata and other IDE.So today morning I went to a shop in order to fix the problem, and after two hours the technician told me that the Bios was damaged, and so he did a flash on the Bios and now everything is OK.He told me that he think it was a coincidence the Flash Bios damage and my action ,but he canīt be sure that the Bios is OK,or if something like a component might damage the Bios again. So I ask you:should I buy a new board,or the Flash damage is something normal, and now everything is OK?
BTW,my board is an Abit AN8 Ultra and I donīt need an upgrade to a Dual Core!

Never seen the BIOS magically corrupt itself. Usually that only happens if it freezes during flashing or if you loose power.
You could order a new BIOS chip, if its replaceable, just in case that is what's faulty.

or if you loose power.
Like what I did when trying to install the HD without remove the power cord from the backof the power supply?
Well, now Iīve got a new Flash,so everything must be ok,no?

Nah, I've done numerous things with the power supply plugged in.
If it's working fine now though, then it should be ok.

Sometimes ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) will cause a glitch like what you described ... and you may have been lucky that it didn't hose your whole BIOS chip ... it seems though you have it up and running ... remember to ground yourself when you go into your case ... and because the power cord WAS plugged in, that helped in grounding the ESD ... :p

That is a good way to ground yourself. You just need to ground yourself anythime you go away and come back while workin in your case. I usually touch the chassis everytime I go to do something inside the case.
