Puppies are the best ... but you won't say that after he's gotten a hold of your shoes or socks or whatever ... my little chihuahua, she has a fetish for leather ... one time she jumped up on the bed after I had folded up some jeans ... she chewed the leather patches off the Levi's and Carhardt pants I had ... and then later went after my leather belt ... yea... puppies are sweet all right! :curse: :- :p :D

how did you house train her?i seem to be having a little difficulty! That's another story, but it was easy in a way ... first, do you let him sleep with you? Big mistake in the beginning ... it's way better to put him in kennel or small carrier ... they won't pee where they sleep, unless of course they can't hold it during the night, but anyways ... you take him out first thing in the morning and take him to where you have some of those training Wee-wee pads and put him on them ... kinda keep him there for a while, and he'll go on the pads ... pretty soon he'll get the idea that in the morning after sleeping, he is supposed to go on the pad ... takes about 2-3 weeks, but in the end, he'll pee on the pad, and not in your shoes ... :D

Uhh that's why I asked him if the pup was sleeping with him ... nothing worse than rolling over into a cold wet spot ... :-
Nice puppy, I've just always been afraid of rottweilers though, not so cute once grown up... Here's my maltese:

aww very cute! :)
The problem with rottweilers isnt the breed its their owners. Many people own rottweilers and dont know how to properly train the dogs and do not understand the breed. Rottweilers are notorously protective of their family and do not require any training to do so. They require a firm hand to make them aware that i(the owner) am the boss. They are dogs ; pack animals who require a leader in order to thrive - to have a purpose like any dog. A dog needs a leader. Someone who provides the food and gives the orders. Most dogs can be trained at any time during their lives. Rottweilers on the other hand need strict training from 7 -8 weeks.if not they can overun the house and be a dangerous dog. They are the strongest breed of dog and can grow to be absolutly HUGE. I'm not taking any shortcuts in his training - which has started already. Just simple retrieve games to begin with. Not tug o war or rough games. Full training is due march 17th for 6 months. Its not an easy task. Im having difficulty showing him that im the boss. they are so tough and very strong willed.
After his training hopefully (fingers crossed) i will have a loving family dog who is loyal and intelligent and most of all obedient!

Being a former breeder of Dobermans....agreed.
Well good going there bro'. Nice dog on your hands but don't go complaining about his constant sleep cause when he gets all active you'll be biathin' about your not being able to get some sleep.
I've been looking at American Bulldogs for a little while now. Don't know if I want to go with a bigger dog though. Not for another year or two when the kid turns 4 probably. the one below weighs 128bls:D That's what i'm looking for. A dog I can wrestle with, lol.

Man thats a stocky dog .Love the stance - the owner must be very proud!
I'm getting confused with an american pitbull with the american bulldog. Totally different breeds arent they?
Yes completely different breeds. It's ok to get confused though cause people still thing that the American Pit is the same thing as an American Stafordshire. Well it's not.
