Hi Guys! Sorry it's taken me so long to get these images up here... I've been hard at work designing/creating my new blog.

I've decided instead of posting images in these threads and having them get lost as time goes on, I would just create a blog where I can post up all of the projects I'm working on in one location.

So without further delay, here is my just this minute lauch blog with it's first article! (modem modding version 2)

Yes the stupid thing crashed right after I put it up... It's back up now though, I fixed it.

Any stability results yet? I tried a similar mod on a dvd/vcr recorder. It seemed like it improved a bit, it didn't freeze during playback of movies. But tonight, I tried recording two hours of video and when I came back tonight the whole unit had shut down and it wouldn't recognize the dvd after starting back up either :curse:.

We've had a lot less dropouts since this mod has been done. Although we still have them, they are WAY less frequent.

I was thinking about doing something similiar to your mod. Only problem is that the Ambit modems that charter supply(Pieces of $#!%) are a little smaller now. I used to have the exact model as you have pictured on your blog, but now they are about 15% smaller and black in color.

I also use a Linksys WAP54G(v3, HyperWAP v1.0 - fifi. 1) with custom HyperWAP firmware. I have already moded my WAP54G and my EG008W(8-port gig switch) with 2 chipset cooler fans. The EG008W has an onboard fan connector stock, but my switch did not have any fans.

I have to use a fan to cool my WAP54G because the custom firmware enables the user(me) to turn up the transmit power about another 100-150mW which greatly increases the heat output.

I am glad to see that somebody(not to mention about 30miles from me) is doing the same type of mods as myself.

I don't know what my problem is, but it seems to be a serious one. I just love making everything in my office much cooler. I got watercooling on almost all my PCs and fans in all my network equipment.
