Hi,
Ok heres the problem, my girlfriend bought a PC from a Supermarket... ok now you got the idea what i am talking about....:mad: So she bought it without even consulting me.. And the biggest problem is that i could get it 100 % cheeper.. but nevermind let me get on the topic back. Ok so the chipset is only with a sink .. and its so fricking hot that the PC restarts evry 5-10 minuts. ITs not in garant. So i went to the store and bought a Collermaster witch is with his own sink. so i get off the other (old) sink and putted the new one.. the problem is that the new one is with Termo-glue stemp ... but the chipset is so much hot that it fell off... i cant put back the old one... any idea what can i buy so i can put in the holes that have left ?
This is the Cooler i bought : http://mostbg.com/most/Item.aspx?itemid=30726
Sorry for my bad English.

Hope you can help me :) Because now she is getting even more annoying, with the moaning that now her PC is laying on the floor.

If you still have the proof of purchase etc id take it back and ask for a refund. Then you can source a better and cheaper one for her. Even though we shouldnt really buy a computer from a supermarket for various reasons the manufacturer would have still ensured that the motherboard and components have adequate cooling. There shouldnt be any components overheating in that computer - unless you have covered up the intake vents. Also, most chipsets, even on high-end motherboards dont have a fan. The North bridge will usually have a heat pipe connected to it, the southbridge will just be a heat sink. If the motherboard doesnt have any fixings for the chipset cooler you will need some adhesive thermal paste. How was the old cooler attached to the motherboard?

First of all, welcome to PCstats, rosengeorgiev;

About your motherboard heatsink, you should just get a 6mm fans and strap it on the default heatsink. Its cheap, and i've strapped fans on HSF using double-sided foam tape. It hold them strong enough ;)

Or, if the motherboard had mounting holes, you could fit them with Chipset HSF such as this one (http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?language=en&act=detail&tbcate=1&id=106). However, they aint cheap..........

As for your current purchase of coolermaster blue ice is a waste, because it uses thermal tape to latch itself to the chipset. If you try to mount that to the chipset without heatspreader, the amount of surface contact would meant that the whole HSF wont stick properly.

i agree with zef, just stick a fan on it :)

get an arctic alumina, a permanent thermal bond that bonds the heatsink fan to your chipset without the use of retention spring clips. works way better than thermal tape anyway.

If the PC is restarting due to overheating, and it's unmodified, get a damn refund. There is no excuse for selling crap like that. If they offer to sell you a better cooler for $50, say you're going to call a lawyer.

Bottom line, take no **** from them.

Arctic Silver AATA-5G Thermal Adhesive - this is pretty good idea.. now to search where can i find it in Bulgaria.. kinda hard i think.. :) Cant turn it back.. its warantyy is wayyy gone.. :) Kinda was rip it off.. before even i can do it.. :) No point to turn the coolermaster back.. i can aways use it on my PC :) There is mounted holes in the motherboard so if i cant find the thermal adhesive . I was thinking to put only the fan over the old sink . But theres the other problem... i tryed to get off the motherboard from the case (so i can get off the sink) But 1 of the bolts was soo tide up that i cound get it off.. the only thing happend that the bolt is now un usable. and i Still coudn't get off the motherboard.. so i tryed with twissers.. didnt work.. so i just Rip the sink from the mother board.. and i broke the plastic bolts... Soo in the end.. the old heatsink is gone forever :)
DONT BUY PC FROM THE MARKET !! ITs Twice the PRICE ... and the guys that made it, are probabbly with broken fingers...
So bottom line. Ty guys for your answeres.. will try it out later. :)

PS. Good luck reading my Post :) IF it doesnt work i will put if i have to 3 x 8 mm fans... all over the pc .. and when she stars her pc she will fly ;)
