Im thinking of buying this http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/amdcooling/orochi over the usual tuniq tower everyone seems to be buying these days. Has anyone had any experience with Scythe products?

It performs worse than the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.

So I wouldn't really recommend it...

Not a ton of people use the Tuniq anymore either, everybody is using the TRUE.

I second the True :) I've just ordered a TRU as the TRUE wasnt in stock till the middle of April and I couldnt wait for that ;)

Or if you can afford it, drop on some cheap second hand water cooling hardware and get it installed :) I dont think you'll ever look back to be honest ;)

I'm determined not to go for a TRUE . Every man and his dog has one! Ive never heard of Xigmatek which is top of the list there. Found one here http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=700899 . Would this be worth going for?

I have always considered water cooling ... but like you Owen, which is the best one? So many different combinations and choices ... it can be difficult to make a decision ... oh wait ... I know ... Go see Avid ... he knows everything ... :p

Swiftech has some decent kits if you really want water cooling...

If you don't want the TRUE, then get a Noctua NH-U12P or that Xigmatek one.

How easy is the TRUE to fit?

Are you talking about water cooling or a air heatsink?
Cos if your talking about water cooling, I know of a great forum that would recommend you a decent setup for not much cash :) Plus I could always send you my 120.2 rad for a small price so I can upgrade to my 120.3 rad ;) :D

I was talking about a water cooling set-up/kit. Everything i need to get set-up and running.

For a water cooling setup, you'd need the following:

Rad
Res - not 100% true, but it was easier for me with bleeding etc..
CPU block
Tubing
Fans for rad
Pump
Barbs - I'm using 1/2" models
Fesser One - Choose your colour and thats your cooling liquid.. :)

I think all in, I might have paid around the £100 mark. I know I got the rad a bit cheaper at £37 inc postage and I only paid £25 for the Fusion CPU block, but the tubing and barbs arent expensive (tubing is about a £1 a foot or something and the barbs are about £2 or £3 each - I'm sorry, but I forget which)
Cant remember what I paid for the pump, but getting a decent one second hand will be a far cheaper option than buying new :)

I'm a member of Chilled PC Forums and the guy who owns it (Tom) would help you out no end to get you sorted with the right kit :)

They have 'pre-built' systems that will cost from £100 or so but they also have an extreme kit which is just over the £200 mark.. Anything over £150 is free for delivery :)

Feel free to join up, he's based over in Wales and is a great guy to speak to :) Holy recommended :)

If i cant get past 3.2 Ghz on my north q cooler i might just go for a water cooled set-up.
