I would like to get a discussion going.

I've discovered a piece of music that I really enjoyed while I was listening to Pandora Radio. As I usually do I then went out to purchase the MP3 on Amazon.

To my surprise it wasn't on Amazon. The then checked on iTunes, not there either. Upon further investigation, the album was ONLY released in the UK.

It seems that the only way I could get the album would be to pay Amazon $30+ dollars to import it for me. Which I willprobably do.

What I want to ask you guys is do you feel it would be immoral to illegally download music that is not offered for sale in your country?

eh? of course not. Cheating on your spouse is immoral not downloading an ablum.

In my own "personal opinion" I do not think it would be technically "immoral" to download something that you could not find for a decent price in your current country.

Hell, if all else fails and you are still feeling guilty about the whole situation, try getting in touch with the group/band or their publicist and tell them your story. The worst thing they could say is "NO, we won't send you a free copy of our album!".

I would say that it is worth a try.

It's that feeling that you get and drink to make it go away :)

if you cant get hold of it, i don't see the problem

However, its possible for you to get hold of it, but it irk's me that you have to pay the extra cost for no good reason

Tough choice id say here, this is a bit of a grey area imo

No. If they don't sell it here then I would have never been a customer in the first place so I have no problem downloading it.

i think nova has the best point here. 30 bucks is a ridiculous fee. i wouldnt buy something like that normally so its not like they are losing money.
