Boot error on XP

This is on my Bro-in-law's a Sony Vaio.

When entering the XP splash screen it takes about 3 mins and then reboots.
It never reaches windows.
I then did this scan and here are the results.
Notice the .png file. ???????
Whatcha think? HDD going...going? gone?

How long do you wait? Normally check disc takes a while to finish the process.

No...the windows XP screen (with the rolling blue bar)takes a looooong time and then reboots and tries again.

It went to the screen above when I improperly shut it down and back on again. This too took a little longer than normal.

Looks like your brother was looking at too much pr0n... :p

You could try reformatting and installing Windows, but to me that's a serious sign that the hard drive is dying when files become corrupt. Then again, he could of just got a nasty virus or something from all that pr0n which killed Windows.
