Hey all...I just noticed that my current partition needs a little more space. A while ago I split my hard drive, wondering if I could get a run down of a program I should get or something to delete my other partition so that the space goes to this one, if that's possible without a reformat??

Thanks for any help...

Rob

Acronis DiskDirector or Norton Partition Magic or Paragon Partition Manager. They should all be capable of doing what you want.

+1 for Paragon Partition Manager.

Well.....

My networking teacher let me borrow a program to use so I tried last night...

I started it up on the partition I wanted to delete and came back in a few hours, it said it was going to take over a day to do so I canceled it.

I then went to boot up and now I can't boot up XP...I get the Boot Error, Please insert boot disc or something like that, I can't look for sure ATM since I'm at school. I try putting in my XP cd but it just goes through the installation process and I also can't do the repair because no password will work for the "Administer Password"...not sure why that is because I did have a password to my account but I have no clue.

This REALLY sucks for me, I have a lot of music/videos/school work I really don't want to lose, plus game configurations and all that takes hours to redo.

If anyone has any ideas I would really really appreciate it....and I didn't try deleting the wrong partition so...yeah.

Update here for anyone that might care to help my disaster :p

I managed to get into the recovery console..which I know nothing about. I appears that my boot files are completely gone and I'm not sure if there's a way to get them back through this console.

I'm trying to search google too but this is a pain, again, any help is greatly appreciated. I'm waiting on the chkdsk /r to be done, taking quite some time. I was reading this, http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#warning2, which looks kind of promising but I'm just going on hunches here.

In the recovery console did you try like "fixmbr" and "fixboot"?

Guess its too late now though :p

I did try fixboot, got an error...it looked like it was unable to find the directory for anything. Everything I tried resulted in an error.

Ouch that sucks. Shouldn't have canceled that program :p

Yeah lol, really no harm done...all of the music I mainly listen to was on my mp3 player...the movies I really only watched once anyway so whatever. My senior high school year is 1.5 weeks from being done so that stuff doesn't really matter.

My WoW custom interface does take many hours of configuration which I can't stand doing and I was just start to like my new one.
