Can you actually log into Vista?

Why in the hell are they charging $60? I've called them 5 times in the last 5 months or so. Do they charge for "certain" calls? What dept. are you calling?

what number do you call. It;s the hardest thing. You have to jump the hurdles of "email us" or "database" crap first.
Really, what # do you use?

I found the number by unpluggin my modem-thus "actiavte by phone" was available (I have to trick the computer??)
took some doing after that, but the guy from india was nice (no, really, good tech)

I believe that you could solve this problem by loading the appropriate SATA drivers by pressing F7 (if i'm not mistaken, lol) when the Windows XP installer loads.
XP cant see your drives because there if your HDD is set to AHCI or RAID mode, XP would need SATA drivers
What are the motherboard you're using? Perhaps me and other members could guide you through the steps.
Either that or excruciating calls to MS support teams. :fighty:

No RAID for the main drive. As far as SATA goes, it worked fine when I used my Raptor 150. This ordeal started when the Raptor failed. It's a paperweight. At least i have my Vista back and activated.

Good Job man... I'm glad you finally found the number to call them up and say " Hey!! Activate my Damn Windows!! ".... :p
I have never had one problem with Microsoft Activation or Licensing...
If Windows 2K had DX10 support I would still be using it, lol. I think 2K was my favorite release of Windows of all time to tell the truth. ;)

Windows 2k was a solid piece of software. I think Windows 7 is going to be your next Windows 2k.
