I'm looking into a new cooler. Ive heard great things about this:

Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer

But I don't want pushpins. Could anyone recommend the best cooler without pushpins?

I think I just added to your "BIOSThread" about the Xigmatek S1283.

It should have been the Xigmatek S1284EE ... sorry :o

Have you read Frosty's Top 5 air coolers?
EDIT: I should have also mentioned that the Xigmatek comes with a nice backplate, so you don't have to use pushpins. They are available from the 'Egg HERE (http://http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233023)and HERE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233020)

My Scythe Ninja used those crappy push-pins. But I emailed Scythe and they pointed me to a socket conversion kit that included a backplate. So now my Ninja is mounted to my 775 socket using a 478 retention clamp, but it's got a backplate and I'm damn happy. lol

I bought my ninja years ago in 2006, didnt come with push pins... Had backplates and mounting systems for all sockets then. I dont understand why they changed to push pins... Only thoguht is for ease with mounting without removing the motherboard.

The question is.... Does anyone like push pins LOL... Also why the frigging hell they got them onthe New CPU's = i7.... I hate push pin design with a passion... Theres something about forcig things through fragile PCB thats un-nerving....

What's worse is trying to remove them ... I hate having to force down on it and twist to get them out. And even the smaller spring-loaded pins on chipsets. You have to squeeze the ends on the back-side to push them out. You have to be careful not to let your needle nose pliers slip off. Yikes! Big gouge in the back of your mobo ... :curse:
