Hey guys, im wondering how does one clean out their water loop, lol the only thing i have done was drain the system and re fill it with fresh coolant. i do see some dirt or something collecting on the bottom of my rez so it has me worried. i want to flush out the system and clean it, now what solvents or solutions are needed for this. Im also gonna re do my water loop, and want to mount my Rad on top of my case and maybe upgrade my pump. Thanks, oh i had another question whats the difference from the D-Tek Fuzion v1 and v2? i believe i have the v1

Just some tap water and a toothbrush should be alright, unless your dirt is stuck on...

Then you need to look into using some mild soaps, I believe some have used laundry detergent with better success than dish soap (for acrylic res that is). Whatever you do, don't use alcohol on anything acrylic.

For a radiator, people say fill it with vinegar and let it sit for a couple hours then I guess shake it up a bit and dump it.

And of course, make sure everything is rinsed well afterward.

I cleaned up all my parts yesterday and since I was running Feser One Fluid there wasn't any major dirt. There was just some slimy stuff in my D-TEK FuZion v2 which came off with water. Everything else was pretty much clean.

The FuZion v2 has a more rounded shape like so:

I use those little brush that were used to clean baby's bottle.
It's useful to clean the inner part of the reservoirs.

As for radiator, i just use normal detergents and i flush it a lil' bit with alcohols.

And the waterblock; i use vinegar or tomato sauce as it'll remove gunk and discoloration on the copper.

And the tubes.......... i've changed all the tubes every 7-8 months. And i'm using cheap tubing, tis' better just to change them rather than using expensive tubing (lol)

thanks for the advise guys, gonna clean it next weekand, i gotta change my tubes, they are very old lol, im looking for a Fan shroud and Grill for my Blackice Extreme II, but cant find any. im thinking of just upgrading to those Thermochill ones, since there are more accessories for them. where does one inquire about fan grills and shrouds or is there some universal one?

The fan grills are universal. I bought 120MM and 80MM ones at my local 'big' hardware stores, they are placed near the 120MM fans.
Even before the fan grill are rave amongst computer user, they are norm on 120MM fan that are used to cool down audio amplifiers.

And......... another advise : check your O-rings. They deteriorate overtime, and changing it could mean a difference between leakage and water-tight system.
Even the shuttle was brought down by O-rings defects on the rocket booster
It's that important, really ;)

might want to check your pump to just to make sure nothing is built up in there.
i too found out that one of my water blocks is so corroded, no more fluid is going thru it. :(
gonna have to pull it all apart soon.

my pump probably has stuff built up, cause the water i see getting pumped back into rez doesn't spin as fast as it used to lol, im just really lazy lol
