Just got it from UPS today. I get some results up soon. Don't have a functioning motherboard yet since my Gigabyte died. But here is some pics so enjoy.

Someday I will be able to take pics like that. :(
Nice, I almost chose that one over the Xigmatek. Does it use the push pins?:scared:

Yea, the retention bracket does use push pins. But I'm gonna try it out, I did have my Scythe Ninja attached using push pins for awhile. I got a nice surprise in the accessory box. It came with a fan controller that I didn't know about.
So which is better, AS5 or the Tuniq TX-2 stuff that came with the heatsink?

I would say either AS5, although I have not used it, I used the AC MX-2. The Tuniq stuff that came with my Tuniq Tower 120 that I used recently was too thick, almost like playdo. It didnt spread good. You can check what you have and see if it's the same way.

I found this article (http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1220/1/4_way_thermal_interface_material_roundup/index.html) at tweaktown and am gonna give the Tuniq stuff a try. AS5 got annihilated in that test and that is all I've been using :scared:

So here are the new temps. They appear to be a bit off because it was 73F in the house at the time of the screen shot. Don't think it is possible for air cooling to cool the processor below the temperature of the surrounding air.

Max temp is after 10 minutes of Prime95 using the "max heat" test. Idle temps are 10 minutes at idle.
Congrats I got the same cooler. I went with the stuff that came with it rather than the AS-5 since some reviews stated that it was superior. I usually run at around 30-32C on my Q9550 at 75F room temp.
So dude I'm curious, what are your temps?
The box are unaesthetically unappealing :p
They need to pimped it up, seriously.
Other than that, there's nothing wrong with the heatsink. And grimreaper, not only HSF, even for watercooling you couldn't cool the CPU lower than the surrounding air temperature :p

Realistic idle temps are probably about 25C, and even that seems slightly low. Load temps were 44C according to Real Temp and Core Temp. I wish I could compare this thing to my old Scythe Ninja, but the motherboard died and had to get a new one. Now the temperature sensors appear to read slightly lower than they should.

I agree, it's like the exact opposite of the box my old Ninja came in.

Watercooling is overrated, go straight to phase :p lol
