I got 4 grams off of ebay for about 8 bucks and it was worth every penny. CPU temps are down 8 degrees C, and my chipset is down almost 10 degrees!!! But the biggest improvement is on my trusty ol' 8800GTS... Over 20 Degrees C.

Anyone with an old 8800 series GPU I would recommend y'all pop off the cooler and replace the thermal compound right away. EVGA used absolutely gobs of some cheap compound that was very dry. Which would explain the 70C and up load temps...

Its not difficult at all to remove the heatsink and its more than worth the time and money. Especially if your card is out of warranty (i.e. NOT EVGA lol!)

If you have questions on how to remove the heat sink just PM me and I will be more than happy to walk you through it. I took pics but they didn't turn out :( not all of us can take them like AK can...

lol AK has a lower model camera than mine :p

It's not about the hardware, its about the user ;)

Yessiree, good stuff eh? That's what I use. I had a good 6-8C drop when I switched to it. I hope Grim got the idea.

MX-2 is an improvement over MX-1.

The viscosity better, and it didn't dry up that fast.

Arctic Silver didn't came out with new product, and for me, it had drop into obscurity :p

I used AC over the Tuniq stuff, but the next order I place from the 'Egg will have some MX-2 in it. The thing that makes me nervous about AC is it conducts electricity. I placed it on my old GPU and chipset and was worried to death I might short something out. Once you attach the heatsink, you can't tell how far it has spread. :scared:
