OK, this may be a lame question, But I've tryed about six time and I can't start in safe mode. (hitting F8 key during boot)

is it one of these two things that is causing this.

- A I did a clean install of Windows XP Home by way of a NLite cd with SP3 intergrated. Did I do something stupid in that setup, and I will no longer have access to safe mode because of it.

or

- B I am now using a USB wireless keyboard, I tested it I can get into bios setup with the F2 key and can change boot device with the F11 key.

Any ideas

I doubt you negated your ability to boot in safe mode but you can test it in msconfig by checking the /SAFEBOOT and MINIMAL boxes under the boot.ini tab. The next time your computer boots it will go into safe mode.

If other keys work during posting its probably not your F8 key all by itself. Your probably just not pressing F8 at the right time. Restart and press F8 repeatedly till you make your computer beep, thatll show it whos boss. :) You need to do it before you see the splash screen.
