Greetings,

I recently built a basic system out of some parts I had lying around to tryout a few things and am having some trouble installing the OS for some reason.

Here's the system:

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum MB
AMD Athlon 4800+
Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2PT x2
1 WD 650MB drive
2 DVD R/W
ATI XT1950

The hard drive was formatted using Win Vista and installed.

I've got a ISO copy of Win 7 Beta 7000 that I want to install to try it out. The bios recognizes the WD drive as being part of the system, but nothing happens when I try to boot form the DVD drive.

I know I'm partially brain dead, but what am I missing here?

Regards....

Did you be sure to make the Disk Image Bootable?

Perhaps you accidentally extracted the ISO with WinRAR? I know WinRAR takes default on ISO files.

You do NOT extract an ISO. You need to use the "Burn Image" function in your burning software. And then just simply select the ISO file and it'll burn it properly.

Thanks folks...... You were both right.

All is well with the universe once again, but for how long, who knows?
