19" CRT

Im about sick of this G*d damn IBM crap, so im gonna get me a nice 19 inch CRT. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions, the faster the better of course, for my gaming

NO LCD!! JUST CRT!!

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 957mb and I hightly recommend it. It's a flatscreen trinitron so the colour is rich and all the lines are crisp. The OSD menu is easy to work with as well.

for the price of a new 19" you can get a second hand (but top of the range) 22" crt of ebay - i am currenlty looking for one. altho i spose you have to have enough deskspace to accomodate a 22" beast!!

I too really like the Trinitron technology. I currently use a 21" Sony Trinitron E540. It has been a great monitor. At work I got a new NEC 21" CRT not to long ago, and that monitor is also amazing....more so than my Sony. It has a trinitron screen. For that reason, I would recommend the 19" NEC Trinitron...

My ********ty KDS 19" monitor died so I recently bought myself a new Viewsonic P95F+ and it's beautiful!

Wanted a LCD originally but couldn't justify the cost.

crax awesome deal, thats the rough price of a 19" Viewsonic, but does anyone know how good it is compared to the rest?? I see the 1600x1200 @ 85khz and thats higher than any of them, and its friggin 21"

i use two 19" samsung 955df monitors. ... they are by far some of the best monitors out there.

I had a Samsung Syncmaster before, and it was ultra nice. But I like this IBM WAY better. Its bigger, and everything about it is better

oh yeah - forgot to say definately go for a flatscreen one rather than a fishbowl or fst - it makes a heck of a lot of difference

TigerDirect********** has some great deals on "recertified" monitors...I found this Dell Trinitron 21" one for $209 after the $40 mail in rebate. These are usually just off-lease monitors from places like where I work(call center) where the monitor is still in great shape. any crt will work fine for gaming. its flatpanels that you have to worry about response time with.

Well, people have suggested several monitors, all of which would be great for gaming. From here it's really up to you Id suggest the one I suggested before though

Add shipping and handling to that and its probably the same price man Not to mention that was WITH a 40$ rebate I believe. If its worth your time go for it, Im just sayin youve got a lot of great options in front of you

I have a Samsung 19" as well, it's pretty good. However, the BEST monitor you can get at 19" out there is an NEC Diamondtron SB-930 - about $350 off of NewEgg. It's an aperture grill monitor, has great controls right off your comp for settings, etc.
