    Default AVG free need Adaware?

I installed AVG free version of malware protection which is a basic protection that includes spyware protection. Is it adviseable to also install free Adaware or Spybot for spyware protection?

I use AVG free and Adaware and also Spybot Search and Destroy. I just recently had viruses and used the AVG Free then used the Adaware and then the Spybot Search and Destroy and each program removed processes that the others left behind. So I would keep them all handy.

    Not WHOIS savvy, eh?

Anti Spyware software can be pretty fickle, so its advisable to have more than one running at the same time. Two should cover you just fine. Three if you're really paranoid.
