Not sure about Paypal
I confused. Just not 100% sure.
Even though I read the faq's. I still don't get it.
How safe is it really? I'm leary submitting my bank account number. Does the money come from my bank account or my CC? I only want to use what I spend on the item I buy. Is this another account money from my CC goes in to?

Re: Not sure about Paypal
Depends on what you give them, but usually CC. They are "safe" but they do have their own MAJOR problems. Like if you sell crazy sh!t on ebay and too much money is comming to your account too fast, they will simply lock your account for a while. Another thing is the crazy fee's, the taking money out of your account that someone gave you for simply launching a complaint, etc etc etc.
They definitely need some competition.

dude ..... you must be running some major operation there lol....
i personally only use it for simple ebay buy and sell stuff. it's easy. they only take however much you owe for the item you buy, and collect whatever amount you make for you. and you just gotta transfer whatever you make back into your bank account, which can be free if you don't mind waiting a couple days.
the whole point of using paypal is so that you don't have to give out your bank account to anyone you do business with. so paypal functions as a safety buffer zone.

It's only for a single purchase from ebay.

Re: Not sure about Paypal
Proceed with confidence. I haven't had any issues.
The only beef I have with PayPal is that they will lock your account for any gun-related transactions, which is patently retarded.

Re: Not sure about Paypal
i'm with nova on the complaint system
i've been parting out my MR2, and i sold the trunk lock off it. honestly, i sold it cheap, because first i had to drive an hour to the car in storage to get it, take the time to pull it off, go get a key cut, and ship it, all in that 25$, you can imagine i really made no profit, i was more or less doing the guy a favor really, like i did for most small things like that honestly, its the big stuff i know is worth something that i want to make money on.
anyway, from canada, to california, USPS..........it wasn't even 5 business days, the guy puts in a complaint, gets his 25$ back, complaining i didn't ship it or something...and honestly there's no way to actually return a legitimate response i find. you guys live there, you know you're postal system sucks, if you just got something for almost nothing, would yoiu be complaining 5 days later because it hasn't arrived yet? i've waited over 6 weeks for things to come from the states because USPS is that bad sometimes.....anyway......

Re: Not sure about Paypal
Should of shipped using UPS or something instead then. At least you have a tracking number that you can throw back at the guy and to PayPal.
Though I use PayPal to buy stuff all the time. Works fine and have had no issues.

lol, the guy wanted cheap as possible shipped, he knew ahead of time it was going usps, we talked about shipping options, the guy was just a douche really. the worst part was, he lost the keys that i sent with the lock, so he emails me back to apologize and asks to send me 5$ so i can go cut another key and mail it to him, cheap again, i agreed, and guess what he did again a few days later.....F###er

Re: Not sure about Paypal
I haven't had any problems with Paypal that I can remember...I think they locked my account one time...can't remember why. The only thing I use it for is a buffer when I use my debit card. For some reason, my bank has Newegg blacklisted. No transactions will complete with Newegg and there is nothing the bank can do about it. So I just have Paypal take the money out of my account to pay at Newegg. It shows up as Paypal NEWEGG COM, but atleast it completes the transactions.

Re: Not sure about Paypal
Is there a fee for using it? I just don't like giving out my bank account number. Who see's that?I'm not clear on this.
