Hey Iceman, I believe I found a better way.
I found that sometimes the "all frames are interlaced" setting didn't do much good. I experamented with it a bit and found that (in xmpeg) the deinterlacing settings, 2-frame odd/even, put out pretty natural looking frames. You might want to try those. An easy way to tell if it should be even or odd is to set it, then just simply scan around the preview to see if it looks messed up. If so, you just switch it from odd to even, or whichever. (This is assuming you're using flask or xmpeg)
