That all depends on what you want to do....I like CloneCD for making copys of whole disks.  As long as your read drive and wright drive can read/wright in RAW fomat you cant beat clone.  For buning binary files, such as most files downloaded from newsgrops I like Fireburner.  For just simple files from your hard drive such as pics or any other EZCD creator by Roxio is the easiest beginner program.  Whatever you like you can get it here,  BYAO!

I would recommend Nero for general burning such as MP3s and other stuff. For stuff with copy protection use CloneCD or BlindWrite Suite.

I haven't tried any of those ya'll mentioned...yet...seems this pc came with a software cd called "easycd" sumpin' or another. well I spent 5 hrs last night teaching myself the basics. I been so busy the past 3 years or so strictly into Heavy gaming, graphic card experiments ect. that I never stopped long enough to even think about CDRW's . so I'm way behind.

So I have some uh....elementary questions. I see there are CD's labeled 'CD-R' & 'CD-RW'. What be the diff. other than when I was burning music to the CD-R's it told me once finalized you cannot change jack.
PLus, what is the max space on these Cd's.although they say 700mb. I could only copy 8-10 songs averaging 3-6 megs in size ea.

yea, you probably asking where the hell I've been but any basic pointers would get me on track.

Thanx guys

CD-R can only copy on the once what you put on it stays on it so always make sure that it is waht you want CD-R is good for MP3s

CD-RW is were you can copy on it but also delete it and copy again as many times as you want, easy cd creator what you have has a thing on it called erase cd for CD-RW

not to sure about the actual size of these dics as far as how many MP3s you can put on a disk but i usualy fit 10 or 12 on mine and i use easy cd creator.

it is right what IceMan says for copy write protected use clone cd or the other one he says

anyway enjoy your new toy hehe as you will enjoy once you see what fun you can have with it???

if you are putting mp3s onto a cd, you can fit around 200... 700 / 3.5
this is for backup purposes or if you have a nifty mp3-cd player like me (slimX r0x0rs)

now if you are burning mp3s onto cds with easycd or nero and you select a"music" format, then it will turn those mp3s into about 30-35 megs each in CD-DA format. this format can be read by regular cd players (walkman).
you should be able to fit more than 8-10 songs on unless you are burning a buncha 8 minute pink floyd songs or something.
i usually get around 20-22 songs on my mix cds.

love the mp3 cd player it looks cool.

and yes most of my songs are long i love pink floyd, Genesis, fleetwood mac, Dir Straites the list goes on so i suppose you are right i could fit a lot more on to my discs if i was not downloading bigg songs.

been listening to Floyd and Genesis for just on 20 years now stems back from my smoking days ?lol.

but the best music around is them in my eyes

Hey GNX, I just bought a TDK 48x24x48x burner and it came with Nero Burning ROM. I have had experience with Nero before and it has always worked great...except for one time. I recently bought a program and on the second disk was a bunch of video files to teach you how to use the program. No matter what I did with Nero, I couldn't get the disk to copy correctly. Would CloneCD work on video files?

As long as your drive will read and write in RAW format  It really doesn't matter what you are trying to copy with CloneCD.
