Default DivX Encoding

When encoding some movies in DivX 5.0.2 Pro sometimes (mostly in daark scences) there are some pink bits that start to render themselves in the scene. I don't know how to get rid of thesse. Is there any option which allows me to stop this happening. It can get annoying!!!

Thanks in advance

Iceman I noticed that too with the new DiVX... When I encode movies, I usually use 3.11 Alpha... I find it produces a higher IQ although sometimes during fast movement it degrades quickly.

NaSTy, I only rip DVD's which I own!

yes they are and as Colin said i only copy my own DVDs ()

Is there any way you can have 3.11 and 5 installed at the same time on the computer as i would want to encode in 3.11 and some divx movies are in 5 so i would want to watch them!!

Well thats your problem
If I recall right DVD's are interlaced with pink lines/blocks as a copyright protection
Computer will pick this up but not DVD players

I have 3.11 Alpha and 5.02 installed at the same time... FlaskMPEG allows me to select either when I encode...

I know DVD's have taht copy right protection, but none of my rips have those pink line and such. What do you guys use to rip to your HDD and what program to encode to DiVX?

I rip using 'Smart Ripper' (if i rip at all) and i encode using dvdx (wicked program). You dont have to rip the DVD to the HDD first you can encode on the fly.

Hmm... I'll give those programs a shot and get back to you if I got any of those annoying problems.

Hmm... When you're playing movies back, are you playing them on a weak machine? I get similar problems when I try to watch a movie on my work machine which is a P3 800EB, but I don't have any problesm on my main rig.
